Learning & Teaching

At St Pius X, we are committed to creating a learning environment where every child is known, valued and challenged to achieve their personal best. Grounded in the values of faith, excellence and inclusion, our teachers deliver a rich and engaging curriculum that inspires curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. Through meaningful learning experiences, students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Our teaching is guided by evidence-informed practices that place students at the centre of learning. Teachers use assessment and student data to understand each learner’s needs, monitor progress and provide targeted support and extension. Through explicit teaching, collaboration, feedback and high expectations, we help students build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, critical thinking and problem-solving while nurturing independence and resilience.

As a Catholic school, learning at St Pius X extends beyond academic success. We aim to develop compassionate, reflective and responsible young people who positively contribute to their community. Students are encouraged to grow in faith, form meaningful relationships and develop a strong sense of purpose. Through a holistic approach to education, we support every child to flourish spiritually, socially, emotionally and academically.
